Trash-Off

The 2010 Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off.

Mark your calendars and join us for the 2010 Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off. This annual event encourages people across the state to join forces to clean up the millions of pieces of litter that accumulate on Texas roadways each year.

The Trash-Off is not only the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state, but part of the Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program. And it's making a difference — in 2009, more than 72,000 volunteers picked up 8 million pounds of litter in Texas alone. It's just one element of TxDOT's comprehensive litter prevention program, which includes Don't Mess with Texas, Adopt-a-Highway and a grassroots partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful.

Join the 2010 Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off by signing up at ktb.org, or call 1-800-CLEAN-TX. If you're part of an Adopt-a-Highway (AAH) group, please contact your district AAH coordinator. Visit texasaah.org to find your local coordinator.
